Huge Crowds are gathering to see Akhilesh in Samajwadi Vijay Rath Yatra
‘Mainstream Hindi and English Media refuse to see the Enthusiasm in the People for the SP and its leader
Uttar Pradesh is racing ahead for a change and anxious to say goodbye to BJP Yogi Adityanath
It seems the media is reluctant to see to the crowds around Akhilesh Yadav and its coverage of his Vijay Rath Yatra is clearly not honest
Seeing the very big crowds in SP leader’s rallies, BJP’s reaction could not conceal its panic
Deputy CM KP Maurya’s ‘Mathura temple’ tweet exposes its fear of facing unavoidable defeat
As Akhilesh clearly said, BJP is ready to go to any extent to win the Assembly elections at any cost
The Saffron camp is sensing defeat and preparing to play dangerous games three months before 2022 UP assembly polls.
Such huge crowds in Akhilesh Yadav’s public meetings are really shocking for the BJP and Yogi Adityanath.
Now everything looks favourable to the principle opposition party, the Samajwadi Party and its leader Akhilesh Yadav in the context of the forthcoming elections Huge crowds are visible wherever Akhilesh goes campaigning for his alliance. SP workers and leaders are enthused after attending his largely attended public rallies from the Poorvanchal region to Bundelkhand in the south eastern region. Nobody expected Akhilesh Yadav’s Vijay Rath would attract such big crowds in the historically backward area of Bundelkhand. Three day tour of the Samajwadi leader proved to be a great success. As the ‘political caravan’ of Akhilesh moves forward through people with unprecedented vigour and strength, BJP- the ruling party at the centre and Uttar Pradesh is slowly moving in the panic mode. Sensing defeat from the available information the BJP leaders are losing control over their thinking and actions.

UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya’s ‘Mathura Temple’ tweet is the best example for BJP leadership’s increased loss of confidence.
Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, state’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s recent tweet on Krishna Temple in Mathura has triggered a political storm, with opposition leaders saying BJP is back to its Hindutva politics since it has already sensed its defeat. Maurya had on Wednesday stirred the political cauldron saying the party is preparing to build a grand temple in Mathura, as construction of temples in Ayodhya and Kashi is underway. Akhilesh Yadav said the comment shows BJP is sensing defeat. “This (Maurya’s tweet) indicates that the BJP has sensed a sure defeat in the upcoming UP Assembly elections,” he said to a news channel. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Aditynath and his party’s central leadership are worried about the farmers’ decision to continue their agitation for the MSP act and Akhilesh Yadav’s campaign in the districts attracting the people’s attention. SP chief Akhilesh said on Friday that Uttar Pradesh is headed for change and his party’s strategy will help in dethroning the BJP in next year’s Assembly elections. The level of confidence the SP leader displays is an indication of the SP’s imminent victory in the 2022 UP election.

Mainstream media chose to ignore the surging crowds at Akhilesh Yadav’s public meetings.
Though the political campaign and Samajwadi Vijay Rath Yatra of the SP leader had been gaining speed and attracting the nationwide attention, it was surprising the mainstream Hindi and English media chose to remain silent about the UP developments. If at all the English media focuses on Akhilesh Yadav’s visits to various regions of the UP, the coverage of news is not reflective of the ground reality. Media coverage is biased regarding the events where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath participate. In the last month when the foundation stone was laid for the proposed international airport at Noida, the number of people present at the event was unexpectedly low. But, the media did not show the people present on the occasion in order to conceal the truth. The photos of Akhilesh Yadav’s public rallies published in the newspapers or shown on television channels do not reveal the presence of the big crowds. The ruling party is able to control the media forcing it to ignore the news regarding Akhilesh Yadav’s visits in the districts.

Media coverage does not matter when the anti-incumbency is fast catching up with the Yogi government

Five years of misrule and the authoritarian methods adopted by Yogi paved the way for anti-incumbency in UP. People are not only disappointed and angry with the state government but also eager to dethrone the BJP and give majority to Samajwadi Party alliance in the coming elections. The political developments in the last one and half months made the chief minister and his party depressed. The saffron camp is desperate to win the polls at any cost. Narendra Modi is visiting his ‘adopted state’ of UP every month for the programmes ranging from laying of stones, ground breaking ceremonies and inaugurations of some or other projects. Yogi sarkar putting a number of advertisements wherever it is possible with lies and half truths. Even if the mainstream media continues its ways of ingnoring Akhilesh Yadav and the developments favouring Samajwadi Party, it will not make any difference to the imminent victory of the SP alliance in the assembly election.

Wikipedia’s revised text on 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Election is indicative of the aggressive mood of Akhilesh and Yogi Adityanath governments’s efforts to take credits of the projects initiated by the previous SP government headed by Akhilesh. Let us see a few sentences written under the headline-Controversies here:

“Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Akhilesh Yadav, who was also the former CM of UP till 2017, made a statement that, UP is in need of a “Yogya sarkar [ideal government] and not “Yogi sarkar [ Yogi government]”. He also took a jibe at present CM of UP and said that the chief minister of the state does not even know how to operate a laptop. He also mentioned how inflation and unemployment has become a huge issue. SP stated that the Purvanchal Expressway was a part of Akhilesh Yadav govt’s plan and shared a picture of the project’s foundation ceremony. SP accused BJP for taking credits of the projects initiated by SP. Welcoming the new highway, the SP workers cycled to the expressway and showered flowers. Later on the same day, on 16th November 2021, PM Modi inaugurated the expressway.”

In spite of tall talk, false propaganda, strong arm tactics and the clever manipulation of the media both national and the state, it is impossible for the BJP government headed by Yogi Adityanath to return to power in 2022. It seems all roads ultimately lead to Lucknow for Akhilesh and his allies. The elder son of the socialist patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav occupying the CM’s chair second time in the summer of 2022 is a foregone conclusion if we closely observe the pulse of Uttar Pradesh people.
