Michael Jackson, the Greatest of All Time and undisputed King of Pop was born..
Michael Jackson, known as the ‘King of Pop’, was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. His album Thriller is the best-selling album world-wide of all time. In 2005, he was acquitted of child sexual abuse charges after a lengthy and highly publicised trial.
He died on 10 June 2009 in London ahead of his much awaited concert at famous O2 Arena in Greenwich.
STRANGER IN MOSCOW is the best song from Michael.
They don’t really care about us is an awareness song and it is a real classic. How he had written the lyrics beautifully is awesome.
“Stranger In Moscow” was so hauntingly beautiful. The pain, the loneliness in his voice – it’s characteristic of the emotion that Michael weaves into his music.
It calls to something deep inside of you, grabs it and holds on. It transforms you the way fire transforms clay into pottery.
You are never the same after you hear his voice sing those words and hear the echo of them in your own heart.
“It’s tale of out-of-step but soul-deep anguish is eloquent enough to mythify alienation in pop terms and elicit a reconsideration of post-Cold War, post-civil rights angst.” – Film critic Armand White on Michael’s “Stranger In Moscow.”
This song was Spike Lee’s original choice to direct from HIStory until Michael steered him to “They Don’t Care About Us.”
What does it evoke in you?
“That’s our main goal in music. You go to a concert and see every race out there. They’re waving hands, they’re holding hands, smiling, they’re dancing…all colours. That’s what’s great. That’s what keeps me going.” – Michael Jackson
“He started a change in the perception of the African-American male on a worldwide level: his strength, always putting himself in a power position, being seen as a hero.”
